How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note 2

How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note 2 International Version (Stock Recovery)

Supported Models are N7100 and N7105

Note: Before proceeding make sure your battery is charged to at least to 70%.

Step 1: Please download the CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100 “Credit Chainfire

Step 2: Extract the package Using 7zip (Recommended) or you can use any Archive tools to Extract this file.

Step 3: Now you will get these 3 extracted files,

1. CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar

2. Odin3.ini

3. Odin3-v1.85.exe

Now please double click on Odin3-v1.85.exe and launch it

Step 4: Place the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100/N7105 into download mode by pressing and holding Volume Down +Menu+ Power button until you see,

Step5: Now press Volume Up button to continue to this screen.

Step 6: Connect your device to your PC using the stock USB Cable and now you should see Odin displaying added in the Message Box as shown in the screenshot  below (If this is not displayed please install the USB drivers or Samsung Kies and retry.

Step7: Click on PDA, it will let you browse <<browse what>>. Now browse the root file which you extracted in Step 3. Locate and select CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar

 

Note: Make sure to select the correct file as shown in the screenshot CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxxgtn7100.tar

Step7: Click Start button to initialize the process of rooting. It will take upto 10 seconds to show you the status as PASS (as shown in the screenshot below)

During this process your device will display a Blue progress bar and once this process completes the device will reboot and take you to the Home Screen

Now in your app drawer you should have SuperSU. If you see this, it indicates that your device is now successfully rooted.

Always remember the very First step after rooting is EFS Backup (will update the guide on this soon).

EFS Backup will back up the IMEI, Mac info, Bluetooth address of the device which is very important. In case of flashing any files if this folder gets corrupted there would be “No SIM” or “No Signal” message on your device, at this point of time we could restore these files.
